A converted barn providing four star Bed and Breakfast accommodation in a central location in Middleton in Teesdale, Barnard Castle, County Durham. This accommodation has been renovated to a very high standard and your host, Lynda Bares, aims to make your stay as pleasant and relaxing as possible with a friendly atmosphere, comfortable rooms, good food and drinks, useful information and helpful service.
The Old Barn is located next to the Tourist Information Office, in the heart of the charming village of Middleton in Teesdale. The Old Barn was originally built in the early 1800s and recently converted with great care being taken to provide a homley feel with farmhouse style decor. We have tried to ensure the bedrooms are really comfortable with pocket sprung mattresses and goose down/feather duvets. We have three bedrooms, two double rooms and one twin room, all with ensuite facilities.
Visitors will find this an ideal base in the Durham Dales from which to tour and explore the surrounding countryside with walks, wildlife and outdoor activities in the North Pennines, which is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Old Barn is also within easy access of many other areas of interest including Durham City, Hadrians Wall, Northumberland and the Lake District. There is some private off road parking to the rear of the property.
We particularly cater for walkers and are situated only 300 metres from the Pennine Way and the Teesdale Way. We have laundry and clothes drying facilities in our drying room and can provide packed lunches upon request.
Guest from overseas are very welcome, German and Spanish are spoken.
